Pupils

For our children it’s not all about sitting behind a desk.

Team Captains

In the school there are four teams and each child belongs to either:
Leopards (Green), Tigers (Red), Lions (Yellow) or Panthers (Blue).
Children can earn points for their teams and feel a sense of belonging within that team, each team is led by two year six pupils who are elected at the start of the school year.

Class Monitors

In every class, teachers will ask children to carry out regular tasks such as delivering the register to the office, giving out books, tidying bookshelves etc.  The children enjoy the responsibility and we try to ensure that all children have an opportunity through the year to be a monitor.

School council

Children are encouraged to develop good citizenship through being elected to the school council and therefore contribute to the running of the school.  The school council is a formal voice for pupils where they can discuss issues and ideas from their peers.

Topics will include selecting school chosen charities for the year, fundraising ideas, improvements or changes to school curriculum, after school activities and they also have a small budget to spend on areas such as playtimes.

The minutes of school council meetings can be found here.

Mediators

These are children chosen from Upper Key Stage Two, they are trained to support younger pupils who need help resolving minor disagreements.  They encourage children to learn to play and socialise together and are expected to be good role models.

Road Safety Officers

These are elected by year six children to promote road safety through circulating publicity and promoting competitions.  These children represent us at borough wide road safety events.

Environmental committee

Children who join the environmental committee help us to identify and design improvements to the school grounds these include play areas, seating areas etc.  They are also tasked with talking to their classmates to promote care for the natural environment and as well as safety for themselves i.e. sun-safety.

Clubs

Children can participate in a range of extra-curricular activities ranging from French to Football; this is an opportunity for them to enjoy different experiences with their friends.  For current clubs please see newsletters on the noticeboard.
