Classrooms

Built in the 1950's to accommodate 180 pupils our school has been extended and improved over the years. Former pupils will remember kitchens and the dining hall and may be surprised to find wrap-around care facilities and the school hall in their place. We are fortunate that our school is built on one level, all classrooms have access to the outside, an obvious safety advantage when there is a fire drill. Many of the classrooms have a view of the school playing fields which then leads onto a field where horses graze; a very nice vista for a school located in the suburbs of London.

Following the fundraising efforts of 'the Friends' (parent/teacher association) each classroom now boosts an interactive whiteboard. Role play areas are encouraged throughout the school to promote the way we teach English. Numeracy 'tool bags' and other innovative displays adorn the walls as an aid to learning. Our children produce wonderful work and we like to display it around the school for all to see. We have a fully stocked library, run by local volunteers, which the children visit weekly.

Our ICT suite is very popular amongst the children and they all enjoy getting to grips with today's cutting edge technology.
